From the architect.This project started some time ago. Some close relatives proposed the idea of building a bathroom-dressing room in the garden, so that it wouldn’t force them to go from the pond that works as a pool to the house to change into a swimsuit. And that it also served to wash your hands after “calcotades” that are already a winter tradition. We started the project specifying a location.

Between the house and the pond there is a shed for storage and almonds and hazelnuts pantry. It is made of old brick and has boarded windows, and one big metal sliding door, painted ultramarine blue.

The dressing room would be located inside. There was room and we avoided creating a new space in the garden. Regarding how, there were three clear ideas:

To observe the nearby landscapes.

· To take advantage of what we already had and what the surroundings gave us.

The surrounding landscapes which are chicken farms, stone walls, and hazelnuts. Brick farms, improvised fences, water ponds, orange trees, and self-built houses.

We would take advantage of two walls from the shed, and we would re-open two windows. One overlooks the cactus that work as a lattice, and the other to the fruit trees and recently planted bamboo. We would avoid duplicities, so no roof and no flooring. And the shape is a cube. The cube.

Outside, at the entrance, we would use the walls to build shelves for the stored material. Inside, we place a shower, hangers, a bench and the bathroom.

We went looking for the rocks for the wall and the bench in the fields, as there are many.

The stone that serves as a sink, the showerhead, the bench, the hangers, the lights and the shelf are objects that I collected. From the house of a granny who is not here anymore. Thank you

The toilet was bought, but in Otranto because Rosma is a friend. That was our conventional shopping. The electricity and plumbing works were made by Tombas, from Alcover, who said the shower mixed style was ugly.

There was also Michail Giurgiu. He is a whole other story.

He was the constructor, supervisor, assistant, adviser, the one who laid every brick and stones. Ladies and gentlemen, he is wonderful.
