十二门楼眨星眼，

墙缝故事藏千年。

上城砖爷晒暖阳，

下城石奶倚门眠。

白花寨寄花瓣信，

急水门歌哗哗喧。

新城墙立如披甲，

小兵昂首气轩轩。

羊坑檐角悬风铃，

风过丁零声串串。

秋塘青草踮脚长，

欲抚云朵软肚腩。

新厝林是野娃娃，

青苔绿袍身上穿。

石径蜿蜒牵蚁行，

悠悠步向远方山。

竹篱爬满牵牛花，

小喇叭举声声唤——

“快来呀，快来呀，

这里时光会打滚！”

Chishi Ancient Village

Twelve gate towers blink with starry eyes,

Old tales hoarded within wall-cracks lie.

Up-town, Grandfather Brick soaks in the sun,

Down-town, Granny Stone naps, her watch done.

White-Petal Bluff sends letters on the breeze,

Rushing-Water Gate sings with splashing ease.

New Town's walls stand stiff and proud,

Like little soldiers in armor clad and loud.

At Sheep Hollow, wind-bells from eaves hang low,

When wind runs past—tinkle, tinkle they go.

Autumn-Pond grass tiptoes tall and keen,

To touch the cloud's soft, downy underbelly, unseen.

New-Grove Wilds is a wild child at play,

Wrapped in a moss-green cloak all day.

The cobbled path winds, crooked and kind,

Leading ants on a journey, far behind.

The bamboo fence, with morning glories wound,

Holds up small trumpets, making joyful sound—

"Come now! Come quick!" their purple voices cry,

"Here, Time itself knows how to tumble by!"
